Changes proposed in NU training facility project


LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) — The coronavirus pandemic is prompting a change in plans for the College of Nebraska’s $155 million soccer coaching facility undertaking.

The Lincoln Journal Star reviews that the Board of Regents on Dec. 4 will hear a plan to separate the undertaking into two phases. Part 1 requires finishing the brand new constructing “with shelled house on the base of a brand new North Stadium tower.”

Part 2 will construct out the Tutorial Middle and coaching space within the new constructing, and requires the completion of renovations on the Hawks Championship Middle.

The brand new constructing is the centerpiece of the brand new coaching facility and can home the soccer program’s locker room, weight room and far of the house for coaching, lecturers and life abilities.

The soccer staff would occupy the brand new constructing by August 2023. That is a yr later than within the authentic plan introduced in September 2019.
